Artist Statement
I am very interested in the pureness and simplicity of nature--especially of the sea and forest elements. I am fascinated by the beauty of untainted life and form of creations. I try to incorporate the mysteries of life and the unknowing themes into my work.
My work is mostly conceptual, but may appear to be abstract on occasions Before working on a project I draw up several ideas that I am considering before deciding on a final product. Sometimes I reappropriate imagery from animation films or movies I have seen, especially whimsical and fantasy-like scenes. Currently I use earthenware--which, I think, has a very beautiful and pure quality on its own. Animation films are usually very meticulous and beautiful, and I very much try to imbibe those qualities into my work.
